Case study · Security operations

We took a security company off paper
and gave their team one platform.

Global One Security, a licensed private-security company in Irvine, California, was working across paper logs, spreadsheets, texts and disconnected apps. Today their team works in GenTech Guard, a platform we designed, built and still support.

The challenge

A whole business held together by paper and group texts

Dispatch happened over calls and texts. Patrols and incidents were written on paper and re-typed later, if at all. Timesheets lived in one place, invoicing in another, and clients had no way to see what was happening on their property without waiting for an end-of-day log.

Every report that went out was manual. Every question from a client meant someone digging through notes. The operation worked because people worked hard around the gaps, not because the tools helped.

Before
  • Paper daily activity & incident reports
  • Dispatch by phone call and group text
  • Spreadsheets for timesheets and scheduling
  • Separate, manual invoicing
  • No real-time visibility for clients
What we built

One platform for the day's work

Not five tools stitched together. A single system designed around how a security company actually runs, on web and a locked-down desktop app.

Dispatch / CAD

A live computer-aided-dispatch board for calls, units and status, replacing the phone-and-text scramble.

Patrols & reporting

GPS patrol tracking, daily activity reports, incident reports, citations and trespass warnings, captured in the field, not re-typed later.

HR & payroll

Officer records, scheduling and timesheets that feed straight into payroll instead of living in spreadsheets.

Invoicing

Billing tied to the work that actually happened, generated from the same system that logged it.

Client portal

A real-time window for clients into activity on their property: reports and updates without waiting for a paper log.

Security & delivery

Two-factor authentication, a locked-down desktop app for field devices, and automated email delivery of reports.

The outcome

What changed day to day

Reports go out automatically

Daily activity reports that used to take manual effort now generate and deliver on their own.

Real-time visibility

Managers and clients see activity as it happens instead of waiting for the end-of-day log.

One system, not five

Dispatch, patrols, reporting, HR, payroll, invoicing and the client portal all live in one place.

In daily use

Guards, dispatchers and the office work in Guard every day, in the field and at the desk.
